With our drum tuition at Do Re Mi Studios, you will become a proficient drummer using the ride and crash cymbal. Find out below how these two parts of your drumkit are used in songs.
The ride Cymbal
The ride cymbal is used to provide variety in music sections. For example you may play a rhythm in a section of a song using the hi-hat on the right hand. Then, after that section of the music finishes, you can change what you are playing on the hi-hat to the ride cymbal. This provides a different texture to the music.
The crash cymbal
The crash cymbal is often used at the beginning of a new section of music (e.g. played after a verse in a song on the first beat of the chorus). It provides more sonic variety and texture in songs.
Drum tuition at Do Re Mi Studios
At Do Re Mi Studios, we are committed to make sure the Sutherland Shire area is enriched with high quality drum tuition. For that reason, we provide cutting edge drum lessons to students of all ages and abilities.
Two of the main reasons for our success are:
1) We only employ highly trained teachers. Our teachers are experienced and patient and are highly proficient in their instruments.
2) Our school has a relaxed and friendly environment.
Our main aim is to make sure your drum lessons are fun. However, we also believe that it is of paramount importance that your lessons are well structured. For this reason, we have written a book method for drums that goes from beginner to advanced level. This book method covers everything from popular rhythms in different styles to playing drum fills and rudiments.
Since 2002, we have had hundreds of students learn with us from our unique drum tuition method. Many of them have gone on to tertiary education in music and others are now playing in rock bands in the Sutherland Shire.
