You need to tune your guitar in standard tuning to play along with the original recording.
Intro riff / instrumental
Figure 1 (below) shows the introduction and also the instrumental part heard in the middle of the song. Play it using alternate picking. This part is optional to learn.

Rhythm guitar part
There She Goes uses the chords G, C, D, Am and Em. In addition, the song uses the chords D/F#, G/B and C(add9). Playing chords D (instead of D/F#), G (instead of G/B) and chord C (instead of chord Cadd9) will also work for those finding it difficult to play these chord variations.
Figure 2 (below) shows you the rhythm guitar part of the intro. Play the same rhythm throughout the rest of the song. Note in bar 1 the number 6 above the bar. This indicates 6 bars of rest. Note also the quaver rest (eighth note rest) at the beginning of bar 14. Place the side of your strumming hand on the strings to produce a rest.

Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed our There She Goes guitar lesson. It is a song I regularly teach students because it is made up of 8 easy-to-play chords (some of which can be simplified further). In addition, all the chords used are open guitar chords which makes There She Goes a quick song to learn.
