Tip #1
The first tip/recommendation is for students to learn music theory. Yep! I know this might sound boring, but music theory has many uses. For example, it will help you to see patterns in the music such as arpeggios, triads and chord progressions. This is important so that you understand what you are playing. Furthermore, music theory will help you to recognise key signatures. Knowing your key signatures allows you from the start to know which notes work well and are mostly used in a particular piece of music.
Tip #2
The second tip that we always give to our students is to practice! Try practicing everyday for at least 30 minutes. A well organized practice schedule is essential if you want to see improvement. Put some time into it and before you know it you will be reaping the rewards.

The third tip/recommendation that we give our students is to practice playing slowly. If you play fast all the time, you will start to miss notes and your playing will become sloppy. Remember: if you are unable to play slowly the piece you are learning, then you will definitely be unable to play it fast accurately! Speed in your playing will come from repetition and accuracy.
Tip #4
Finally, the fourth tip is take piano lessons. Lessons are helpful because you will have a teacher guiding you. Teachers can guide you on what would be good to learn for your level.
