Live music performance with musicians showing with stage confidence.

Thank you to all our students that performed at the Oyster Bay Arts and crafts fete in the Sutherland Shire on Saturday 30 May. One thing that was noticeable from the performance, is how our music tuition has helped them develop their stage confidence. All of these students have developed good practicing habits on their instruments and it really showed in their confidence on the stage.

These talented students played songs that they are currently learning in their music lessons. After watching this performance, I thought I’d write an article on how to prepare for a live performance. So here we go:

Before going on stage, make sure you have warmed up. Knowing you are warmed up and have done your preparation will give you extra confidence. In your music lessons in our Sutherland Shire school, your teacher will show you suitable warm up exercises.

Being on stage can be very exciting but it could also be frightening. Confidence developed through your music lessons will make the difference. If you don’t feel confident, act like you are. Yep! I know it sounds odd but by simply pretending that you are confident, some confidence will be built into you and you will likely perform better on the stage.

Practice every element of your performance to develop stage confident. In our music tuition at Do Re Mi Studios, our teachers will show you how to do that. It is important to practice everything: the way you will walk on stage, the way you will move during the performance, how you will exit the stage, etc.

It is a good idea to practice your movements in front of a mirror to make sure you are giving the effect you want.

Would you like to take the stage with us at our next Sutherland Shire performance? If so, try our music lessons today to build your confidence.
